Greetings! My name is Ms. Smith and this is my second year on the Mountain Park Elementary TAG team and my eleventh year of teaching with Fulton County Schools. I started as an IRR Special Education teacher and taught in that area for 7 years. This is my fourth year as a TAG teacher. I am truly looking forward to working with your child this school year!

Unit Syllabuses and Current EventsPlease refer to the first attachment below to access our unit syllabuses. Included are weekly topics, as well as, dinnertime connection questions to encourage discussion of what students have learned. *All syllabuses are sent home at the beginning of every unit.
Special Note: If you have any special knowledge or expertise that pertains to our units, please feel free to join us. Please email Ms. Smith at your earliest convenience! We'd love to have you! Students will occasionally have Current Events homework assignments. Students will be given ample time to complete the assignments so that they will be prepared for their presentations. Please assist your child in finding articles that are related to their current unit. Please refer to the second attachment below.

AVID Note-takingTo help students increase their skills in organization, retention of content, and making critical connections to synthesize what they have learned, students are learning how to take notes using AVID strategies. The three formats we are working on our 2-and 3-column notes and the One Pager. If you would like more information regarding these strategies, please email me at your earliest convenience. Students are doing very well learning best practices for note-taking!
